ST. LOUIS – March 27, 2013 – Brian Hall has been named Chairman of the Christmas in St. Louis Foundation for 2013, a charitable organization that produces the annual Macy’s Festival of Lights and the Ameren Missouri Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Hall, who serves as Chief Marketing Officer for the St. Louis Convention & Visitors Commission (CVC), will oversee all aspects of the Macy’s Festival of Lights and the Ameren Missouri Thanksgiving Day Parade.

“I’m honored to serve as Chairman of an outstanding organization that not only produces St. Louis’ two signature holiday events but also has a great tradition of giving back to the community,” said Hall. “I look forward to working with all our dedicated and talented volunteers in promoting the many holiday activities that makes Christmas in St. Louis so special.”

Recognized as an expert in the travel and tourism marketing and advertising industries, Hall has more than 25 years of experience in hotels, destinations, and airlines. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and marketing from Whittemore School of Business & Economics at the University of New Hampshire, and an MBA from Webster University.

Along with Hall, the 2013 Christmas in St. Louis Executive Committee includes Anne Carroll (Vice Chairperson); Ken Mallin (Second Vice Chairman); Mike Sondag (Treasurer); and Chris Piazza (Secretary). The 2013 Chairpersons are Gerri Lashley (Light Up); Katie Shankman (Development); John Nickel (Nominating); Mike Sondag (Finance); Anne Carroll (Marketing); Ken Mallin (Parade Operations); and Gerry Doyle (Charities). In addition to producing the Macy’s Festival of Lights and the Thanksgiving Day Parade, the foundation selects two local non-profit organizations each year as the beneficiaries from the events. In 2012, the Joshua Chamberlain Society and the National Children’s Cancer Society were selected as the charitable recipients.

Held in mid-November, the Macy’s Festival of Lights officially kicks off the holiday season in downtown St. Louis. Now in its 29th year, the Ameren Missouri Thanksgiving Day Parade follows that event on Thursday, November 28.
